Colleen’s Sugar Free Mixed Berry Sorbet
Author: JoanieMy youngest daughter, Colleen has been experimenting in the kitchen lately. I love that she’s fearless in the kitchen and willing to attempt anything there.
She recently had braces put on her teeth and although she has adjusted quite well, when her braces are tightened, her teeth become a little sore. Colleen thought a “cool” treat would soothe her aching teeth and decided to make a iced dessert.
We’ve been using our Cuisinart ice cream maker a lot this summer and we always have an ice cream base waiting in the freezer to be used. Colleen’s idea was to use frozen berries, pineapple-orange juice concentrate, water and a half of a banana to create a healthy, sugar free mixed berry sorbet.
It was very easy to make and any fruit and juice combination would be delicious.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (raspberries, strawberries and blueberries)
3/4 of the container of frozen pineapple-orange juice concentrate
1/2 banana
2/3 cup water
DIRECTIONS
Mix all the ingredients in a blender.
Pour the mixture into ice cream maker and process according to the manufacturer’s directions.
