I love to make air-popped popcorn.  It’s a great snack that’s low in calories.  You can add many flavor combinations to plain popcorn.  Let your imagination run wild!   This recipe is for what I like to call, Italian Popcorn.

Italian popcorn is simply air popped popcorn that I’ve drizzled olive oil over and mixed in some oregano, basil, and freshly grated parmesan cheese throughout.  It’s got a salty, nutty taste from the parmesan cheese, a sweetness from the fresh basil leaves and I love the flavor of the olive oil mixed together.   It’s a perfect snack for a movie night or anytime!

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup popcorn kernals

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

7 basil leaves, torn

3/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

1/8 cup olive oil ( I like to use extra virgin olive oil, but use what you like)

DIRECTIONS

Pop the corn and place in a bowl.  Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.

Enjoy!!
