A Quick Wine Tasting & A Visit To Moonstone Beach in Paso Robles, California

Beautiful Paso Robles is a short drive from San Francisco. We enjoyed great wines, a visit to Moonstone Beach and watched the Elephant Seals at Elephant Seal Beach.

Le Cuvier 2008 Zinfandel – Paso Robles “Big” Zin

The 2008 Zinfandel is definitely "big" with 17.4% Alcohol with broad range of favors that hit you when you take your first sip but become complex and nuanced as you let it linger on you tongue and with a long smooth finish. The complex structure of the wine comes from the wine making process where the wine is allowed to sit onits skins for an extended time and then in the barrel for over 2 years.

Le Cuvier Rose Wine

The Le Cuvier Rosé Wine is the only rosé that is meant to serve at room temperature, which is a testament to the quality of the wine. The wine has a light coral color and is extremely light and dry on the tongue with red berry layers that linger.

The Gesture GSM has great body, depth and flavor complexity starting with wild berry nose that is a prelude to the layers of dark fruit flavors that are highlighted with a touch of pepper. Having spent the past few years focused on Sonoma County red wines that tend to be big and bold, Paso Robles wines are typically are more subtle letting the complexity of the wine come through over time.
